Ratings Report: Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters 24 and Kamen Rider Fourze 45

Kamen Rider Fourze is back from its Olympic holiday and heads into its final four episodes. Kicking off this weekend was an arc that will surely be the set up for the finale.  But how did the shows do as far as ratings go?

After returning from a one week break, Kamen Rider Fourze finds its way into a 5.4% rating for episode 45. This is up from episode 44’s series low of 3.7% – it should be noted that there was a reason for this. An event that is broadcast for 24 hours live featuring a popular boy band was ending at the same time. Usually this effect happens, but this year’s ratings bump was larger than normal, especially when you consider Go-Busters’ Mission 22 hit a 2.2%. Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters Mission 24 saw a jump in ratings to  3.8% from last week’s 3.1%. The return of Kamen Rider Fourze definitely helped boost the ratings, but the show is still having trouble getting out of that 3% range.  Go-Busters is currently sitting at a 4.0% series average, which is pretty terrible, the lowest Sentai has ever seen. This might be offset by toys having a slightly better than average year.

We’re only three weeks away from the premiere of Kamen Rider Wizard now, it’s going to be interesting to see how much of the premiere of a new Kamen Rider show helps Go-Busters out, if at all. Fourze’s ratings bumps have not been the best for Sentai and there are beliefs that it might be dragging down that franchise. Without a doubt, Kamen Rider Fourze is going to end as the lowest averaged series in Kamen Rider history thus far – currently sitting at a 5.9%
